 Sorting the Bad Apple out

Obviously, no school, students or teachers refuse to work under a good academic will for intentions to achieve good education. The problem is how to benefit from our teachers and students to make school an enjoyable and lovable place and environment to have everybody in it participate in its improvement. I personally like the way the teacher dealt with those great kids to make achieve the best they have. He succeeded to make them get involved and love what they were doing rather than dictating. He was clever enough to make them realize what they lack in the school and how can they make it a better place for education. The kids, at that age, found themselves realizing their own dreams and ideas. They felt they were working on something of their interest which is to have an ideal school where they can comfortably study in be around.

To me, it is amazing to see these kids doing well in conducting the project they called “project Citizen” by their own. It is incredible to have them, with the orientation of the teacher, work on every single detail to realize their ‘action plan’. It is always possible to get higher if you know to use people, students in this case, work for something they need and feel highly interested at. Therefore, having in mind that the school is their own not the teacher’s, those fifth graders were totally committed in conducting surveys, collecting data, analyzing it and finally find solutions depending on the data. Realizing that the school lacks mean to make their dreams came to action, the kids thought of involving other people using very effective ways such as the letter, using the mass media and inviting successful people to visit the school. They also contacted some politicians or decision makers for the sake of having a great school. A school they would be pound to be students in.

This takes me back to my primary school period, when we had schools at the same conditions: no toilets, no lunchroom, and no gym, but they were lucky that they had enough teachers at school. At certain time, I felt they are talking about my school. Luckily, they had a great teacher that could care for their learning and school condition. A Teacher who pushes forward their enthusiasm and make them use their skills and potentials to achieve something no one ever thought of before. The teachers in my case were struggling to adjust to the new environment they had never been before let alone thinking f our needs and school.

Generally, these fifth graders prove that not only adults can always achieve higher, but kids can also do what adults would not pay attention to or even think of. They prove that they do have skills and potentials that need to be used appropriately for noble achievements. Therefore, we should never underestimate any person under any kind of age or sex.
